WHO'S LIST

Over the years, acupuncture has convinced millions of people around the world with its remarkable effects and impressive results on various ailments. In 1979, acupuncture was officially recognized as a treatment method by the World Health Organization (WHO). Although acupuncture is proven to be effective against almost all ailments, the WHO believes that not everyone is equally susceptible to this form of treatment. Therefore, the WHO has compiled a list of conditions where acupuncture is likely to be beneficial.

The list is based on extensive experience and acupuncture has become more widely used in conventional healthcare in recent years. It is now used in various areas, such as pregnancy and childbirth, with maternity wards offering acupuncture to relieve pain and calm the laboring mother.
